We're just days away from what I would say is the biggest rivalry in world football. At midday on Sunday my beloved Aston Villa take on their arch-rivals at Villa Park. Nothing short of a win will do. Those two defeats last season must be avenged. I just hope the game isn't as boring as the scoreless draw earlier this season.
In football crazy Goa, the rivalry between two teams was so intense that in the deciding games, with both needing to win (but one by seven goals more than the other) in order to gain promotion, officials from both teams bribed their opponents to lose. The final scores were hilarious! Thanks to Vishal for the link!
The Caps beat New Jersey 3-1 last night, thanks yet again to a superb performance by goalie Olaf Kolzig (43 saves). The gap between Carolina and the Caps in the Southeast Division is now just three points. Will they get off the bottom of the division before the season ends? Florida are up next tomorrow night.
