Has it really been eleven days since I last posted anything? Sorry about that. I have been occupied with other things, like reading
The Closers - the excellent new Harry Bosch novel from
Michael Connelly. All of Michael's novels are superb, and this one is no exception. Absolutely scintillating. As always, highly recommended.
After a good first half against West Ham on Saturday,
Villa went back to their old ways again. They were leading 1-0 going in at half-time, but for some mysterious reason they came out flat in the second half, and never really recovered once West Ham equalised. They lost
2-1 in the end. Up next for Villa: Tottenham.
As for the
Caps, the past eleven days have seen them lose
4-3 in a shootout to Florida,
4-3 to Chicago and
4-1 to Dallas before beating the Mighty Ducks
3-2 (with the help of an Ovechkin hat trick) and slaughtering Phoenix
6-1. All but one of those were road games. The Caps are back home against St. Louis tomorrow night.
