Way back in
July 2005 the Northbridge chipset fan on my Abit IC7-G motherboard started making some unwanted noise. I contacted Abit and got a replacement free of charge. But now it has started to make that same noise again! I have thus come to the conclusion that the quality of this chipset fan is utter rubbish.
So what am I going to do? Well, I had considered contacting Abit again for another fan, and even looking for a fanless motherboard to replace my IC7-G, but just now I found the perfect solution. The
ZM-NBF47 from
Zalman. An aluminium heatsink that cools the chipset to its optimal temperature in absolute silence. Brilliant!
