a week ago I mentioned I was having problems with my secondary hard disk, and I promised I'd post if I found the cause of the problem. Well, after I replaced the SATA cable and reformatted the hard disk a couple of days ago, the problem is no longer occurring - so it would appear a dodgy cable was the cause!
