There was never that much injury time! Despite taking a 2-0 lead early in the second-half, Villa messed up big time, and the game finished 2-2. That said, with the amount of chances Villa had, the enemy should have been dead and buried by half-time! It was a cracking game, though. We will have our revenge next season!

Over the other side of the pond, the Caps - for the first time this season - came back from a two-goal deficit to tie 2-2 with Florida. The division-leading Tampa Bay are up next tonight, and if the Caps beat the Bolts and Carolina lose to Toronto, they'll be within one point of escaping the Southeast Division basement.

We're just days away from what I would say is the biggest rivalry in world football. At midday on Sunday my beloved Aston Villa take on their arch-rivals at Villa Park. Nothing short of a win will do. Those two defeats last season must be avenged. I just hope the game isn't as boring as the scoreless draw earlier this season.

In football crazy Goa, the rivalry between two teams was so intense that in the deciding games, with both needing to win (but one by seven goals more than the other) in order to gain promotion, officials from both teams bribed their opponents to lose. The final scores were hilarious! Thanks to Vishal for the link!

The Caps beat New Jersey 3-1 last night, thanks yet again to a superb performance by goalie Olaf Kolzig (43 saves). The gap between Carolina and the Caps in the Southeast Division is now just three points. Will they get off the bottom of the division before the season ends? Florida are up next tomorrow night.

Caps star Peter Bondra was traded to Ottawa yesterday. I'll be honest: I wasn't surprised. I don't think I care anymore anyway. Less than 24 hours earlier, thanks to yet another impressive performance by goalie Olaf Kolzig (47 saves), the Caps earned an excellent 1-1 tie with Ottawa. New Jersey are up next tonight.

My machine is now mass-mailing worm free! After a full system scan by Norton Anti-Virus, with the very latest virus definitions, all traces of Netsky have been removed. Of course, despite the fact that Norton said the attachment was virus-free, it's my own fault for giving in to curiosity and opening it in the first place!

Oops. I've just infected my machine with a mass-mailing worm called Netsky. Unfortunately, the usually reliable Norton Anti-Virus failed to save me this time since the latest virus definitions I had didn't detect the new variant. I've just downloaded the latest ones now, so hopefully Norton will detect and repair the damage.

I'll be glad when the next version of Movable Type is released. I'm really looking forward to the comment registration feature that will allow only registered users to post comments. That should put a stop once and for all to the rising number comment spams posted here by morons with nothing else better to do.

The Caps beat Chicago 4-0 on Sunday night, thanks to a super 38 save performance by goalie Olaf Kolzig. They open a five-game homestand tonight against the Ottawa Senators, who are chasing Toronto for the Northeast Division lead, and have beaten the Caps twice already this season by 5-1 and 5-2 score lines.

I watched Unbreakable last night and really enjoyed it. The twist at the end was superb. I should have seen it coming a mile off, but I didn't figure it out until the final scene! Anyway, it's written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the same guy behind The Sixth Sense, which also has a superb twist at the end.

It appears that MyDoom.A has finally subsided at long last. But don't be fooled into thinking your inbox is any safer. Dumaru.Y and Sober.C have been frequent visitors to my inbox of late. I really don't know what I'd do without Norton Anti-Virus - it has paid back its extortionate purchase price many, many times over.

After a 3-3 tie with Carolina on Thursday night, and a 5-2 loss to Nashville the following night, the Caps will be looking to get something from their game against the Blackhawks in Chicago tonight. After Chicago, the Caps play Ottawa and New Jersey at home, and I don't expect them to win in either of those games.

Woohoo! Villa's 2-1 win against Fulham last night, coupled with a 2-0 home win against Leeds last Saturday, has catapulted them up to 7th in the league, and into contention for the final Champions League spot, which Liverpool currently occupy. Best of all, Villa are above the enemy from across the city by two points!

Before the 54th All Star game over the weekend (which the East won 6-4), the Caps lost 5-1 to Philadelphia. They're back in action tonight against the Hurricanes, a team they've beaten four times already this season. With the Caps just five points behind Carolina, a win tonight would close that gap to three. Go Caps!

Since its release last week, W32.Mydoom.A@MM has become the fastest spreading virus ever, surpassing last years Sobig.F outbreak, with a peak infection rate of one in every twelve e-mails. Perhaps more worryingly, anti-virus experts reckon its massive success will encourage more like it in future - I agree.

After a horrible 6-1 loss to Vancouver on Saturday night, the Caps bounced back by snapping the Tampa Bay Lightning's six-game winning streak with a superb 2-1 win last night. Goalie, Maxime Ouellet, starting in place of Olaf Kolzig, had a great game, stopping 38 of 39 shots. The Flyers are up next tonight.

Finally, congratulations to the Patriots for winning their second Super Bowl in three years with a 32-29 win over the Panthers on Sunday. Amazingly, Adam Vinatieri, the same guy who won it for them in 2002 with the last kick of the game, won it for them again this year with - you guessed it - the last kick of the game!
