It's my 23rd birthday next Tuesday, so you still have plenty of time to buy me a gift if you haven't already done so! Stuck for ideas? Well, you could send me some money via PayPal, or you could buy me something off my Amazon Wish List. I can't believe it's July 1st tomorrow - the last six months have flown by!

The recent security vulnerability discovered in Internet Explorer pretty much underlines why I finally decided to dump it. The excellent and (most importantly) secure Mozilla Firefox is a great alternative. I know I keep linking to it and going on about how great it is, but all the praise I heap on Firefox is fully deserved.

My favourite MLS team, D.C. United, tied 1-1 with the Dallas Burn on Saturday night. They fell behind to Jason Kreis' 89th career goal (a goal which made him the MLS all-time leading goal scorer), but another goal from Alecko Eskandarian earned them a point. United face their arch rivals the MetroStars this Saturday.

The 2004 NHL Entry Draft finished on Sunday, and as expected, the Caps made Alexander Ovechkin the first overall pick. They also used their many other picks to stock up on young talent for the future. Hopefully, with Ovechkin as the foundation, some of those drafted players will mold into a Stanley Cup winning team!

Well, I said it would be a close game, and I was right - and what a game it was, too. It finished 2-2 after extra-time, but sadly Portugal won 6-5 on penalties. England didn't play very well, but they had a perfectly legal goal disallowed, which would of won the game. It's fair to say England were robbed. I still can't believe it.

After a weeks trial I've now officially stopped using Internet Explorer for web-browsing, and Outlook for e-mail and newsgroups. I now use Mozilla Firefox for web-browsing, and Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mail and newsgroups. Both applications are fast, reliable and secure. Mr. Gates and Microsoft, take note.

My favourite MLS team, D.C. United, beat the Columbus Crew 3-1 at home last Saturday night, snapping the Crew's seven-match unbeaten streak. Two awesome goals from Alecko Eskandarian, and one from Moreno sealed the victory, with all three goals coming in the first half. Yeah! Now that's more like it!

It's the 2004 NHL Entry Draft this weekend in Raleigh, North Carolina, and as the Caps have the No. 1 pick, they have the chance to pick the highly rated Alexander Ovechkin - and they'd better! As an article on the official NHL site says - after a woeful season - the Caps' future is indeed in GM George McPhee's hands.

Well, England didn't win their group, but it doesn't matter! What matters is that they beat Croatia 4-2 on Monday night and made it through to the quarter-finals against the host-nation Portugal tonight! This is such a big game for England. It will, however, be a close one. Nonetheless, I can't wait for it to start. Go England!

Ok, so it wasn't the best performance you'll ever see from an England team, but it's the result that counts - and what a result it was! England beat Switzerland 3-0 yesterday evening in a must-win game. They now only need a draw from their final group match against Croatia to clinch a quarter-final berth. Woohoo!

With all the privacy and security exploits that seem to target it, including a serious one that has yet to be patched, I'm rapidly going off Internet Explorer. Since I started trialling Firefox a few days back, I've had nothing but peace of mind. It's fast, secure and boasts superb privacy features. Maybe it's time for a change.

Apple finally got around to launching iTunes in Europe yesterday. About time, too! I've just downloaded the software, and I can't wait to install it and check it out. If it's as good as it sounds, I may never buy another CD single again. You can read all about iTunes here, and you can download the software here.

In their opening game of Euro 2004, England lost 2-1 to France. But how lucky were the French? A brilliant last minute free-kick from the wizard that is Zidane tied the scores, and then a penalty in the dying seconds, also scored by Zidane, gave them the win. A win against the Swiss on Thursday is now a must for England.

Over the other side of the pond, D.C. United drew 0-0 with the Colorado Rapids. It was a disappointing result for D.C., especially as they had most of the possession and created several goal-scoring opportunities. One of these days D.C. United is really going to hammer a team, I just hope it's sooner rather than later!

Fox Home Entertainment has launched an official website to promote the upcoming DVD release of the first season of Millennium! It's an absolutely stunning website, with information about the DVD box set, downloads, cast and crew bio's and much more! It's best viewed over a broadband connection, though.

It has been a while since my last update, so let's get down to business. I installed Movable Type 3.0 on this site today. I think it's fantastic, and the superb new comment registration feature will finally put a stop to all those evil comment spammers that have been plaguing everyone (including me) once and for all. Ha!

Congratulations to Tampa Bay Lightning on clinching their first Stanley Cup, with a 2-1 victory over the Calgary Flames in the final game of the seven-game series. The Lightning have had an amazing season, and in my opinion the best team won in the end. However, I dislike the Bolts, so I was hoping Calgary would win...

Beset with injury problems and players absent due to international call-ups, it's fair to say my favourite MLS team, D.C. United, are having a rough time at the moment. Last Saturday's 3-0 defeat against Chicago Fire wasn't pretty. United, currently 4th in the Eastern Conference, play Colorado at home tomorrow night.

Finally, I haven't quite decided yet, but I may replace my current e-mail and news reading applications - Outlook 2000 and Outlook Express 6 - with Mozilla Thunderbird. It has some great features, (the spam filter is particularly good), and best of all, it's free! The web browser, Mozilla Firefox, has also impressed me.

I've discovered why Play doesn't charge for postage and packing - they hardly bother with it! I had to send back the X-Files Season 6 DVD Box Set I ordered a while back because it arrived all smashed to bits. It's hardly surprising really when you consider how badly protected it was - just one tiny padded envelope!

I received the replacement today, and although it wasn't smashed to bits, it was still dented and scuffed a little. I won't bother sending it back this time, though. However, what I will do is not order from Play ever again until they start protecting their shipments better. Amazon shall be getting my money instead.

The owner of Lance Henriksen Magic, Sue Myatt, has started an online petition to persuade Fox to bring back Frank Blank and make a Millennium movie. If this were to happen it would be great! I've signed the petition you should too! And don't forget the excellent first season of Millennium is out on DVD in July.
