I've been listening to Mariah Carey's new album, The Emancipation of Mimi, over the past couple of weeks and I have to say it's pretty impressive - her best album since the brilliant Daydream in my opinion. We Belong Together is the best track on the album by far (and the next single to be released).
It was a bad weekend results-wise for my football teams. Villa only managed a 1-1 draw at home to Bolton after having taken the lead, and D.C. United lost 4-3 at home to New England in a pulsating game reminiscent of the two side' Eastern Conference Final clash last season. Both teams are back in action again on Saturday.
My PC keeps randomly restarting itself. I know it's not being caused by a virus or spyware, and my PC is patched and running a decent firewall. Windows OCA seems to think a dodgy device driver is at fault. I think it's right, and I think I know which device driver it is. I'll remove it tonight and see if that cures the problem.
The fantastic Google Maps now covers the UK.
What an amazing come back by the Villa yesterday afternoon! They came back from 2-0 down against Southampton to win the game 3-2 - and away from home, too! Sadly, D.C. United didn't fair too well on Friday night. They lost 1-0 away to the Columbus Crew. Both teams are back in action next Saturday afternoon.
I haven't posted anything yet this week, but to be perfectly honest, I've not much to say! How about a quick sports recap? Both my favourite teams drew over the weekend. My favourite MLS team, D.C. United, drew 1-1 at home to Chicago, and Villa drew 1-1 West Brom (who scored in the last minute of the game!).
I've had the new Mariah Carey album, The Emancipation of Mimi, for over a week and I still haven't listened to it! I'll let you know what I think just as soon as I can tear myself away from reading The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown. So far it has been a really interesting and riveting read - I'm loving every minute of it!
Google Desktop Search is also pretty awesome.
Google Maps is unbelievably good.
Amazing. Absolutely breathtaking. Awesome.
It was an excellent day for both my teams yesterday. First, Villa thumped Newcastle 3-0, and then - amazingly - two Newcastle players started thumping each other! Villa Boss David O'Leary was clearly delighted with the win. Over the other side of the pond in MLS-land, D.C. United beat Chivas USA comfortably 2-0.
After the break last week for the World Cup qualifiers, the Premiership resumes today with Villa having just kicked off against Newcastle. A win would be great, but Villa are away from home, so I'll be quite happy with a draw! And as for this 20 million summer spending spree story, I'll believe it when I see it.
The MLS starts again today! My favourite team, D.C. United, start away at Chivas USA - one of two new expansion teams added to the league this year (the other being Real Salt Lake). My predictions this time last year were slightly off target, but I've had a good think, and here they are again for this year...
I expect D.C. United to be up there challenging for the title again. I also expect the Kansas City Wizards to be challenging again after coming so close last year. I don't expect much from the two new expansion teams, Chivas USA and Real Salt Lake, but one (or both) could surprise everybody and do rather well.
L.A. Galaxy were disappointing last year. However, they're still one of the strongest teams in the MLS in my opinion, so I expect them to come back strong this year. The Columbus Crew are also a team to watch. So, who will win the MLS Cup then? For me it'll be any one of these four: L.A., D.C., Columbus or Kansas.

The Google UK April Fool's is absolutely superb!
