The news that Mozilla Thunderbird will have to find a new home in the near future, due to the Mozilla Foundation focusing more on Firefox, has come as a big shock to me. I really do adore Thunderbird. There's talk of it becoming even more neglected than it already is, or even discontinued entirely. I am so disappointed.

Villa beat Columbus Crew 3-1 on Saturday night, and the quality of the Villa team impressed Columbus. Nice to hear. Charlie has put a photo of the Toronto game on his site, and there's a whole load more on his Flickr site. Villa return home to play Stoke on Wednesday, followed by Inter Milan on Saturday at Villa Park.

I watched The Simpsons Movie on Sunday afternoon. I thought it was hilarious, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. With an 87 minute runtime it's really just an extended episode of the TV show, but I didn't find myself getting bored - I didn't want it to end! Even if you're not a fan of the show you'll still love this. Recommended.

I went to see Transformers last night starring the lovely Megan Fox. I thought it was absolutely breathtaking from start to finish. The visual/special effects were just jaw dropping. This is the sort film you simply must see at the cinema to fully appreciate how good it is. There's bound to be a sequel. Highly recommended.

Villa beat Toronto FC 4-2 last night. It sounds like it was a fantastic game with plenty of chances for both sides. Toronto certainly made Villa work for the victory. Villa play Columbus Crew next on Saturday. The Crew have a good record against English clubs in friendly games, so that'll be another testing game.

I do like this news article about tonight's friendly game between Villa and Toronto FC. It's nice to read other people's views about my favourite football club. Hopefully, tonight's game will be a good one - especially with 20,000 people in attendance. It won't be an easy game for Villa, but even so, I don't expect them to lose.

I see the government has announced plans to improve rail travel by spending billions of pounds (tax payers money, of course) on creating a bigger, stronger railway, carrying twice as many passengers by 2030. And about time, too. Rail travel (and public transport in general) is way, way beyond a joke in this country.

Villa are in Canada for their friendly game against Toronto FC on Wednesday evening. I was quite tempted to hop across the pond to watch, but things didn't work out as planned. Nevermind. I'm sure Charlie will grab some great pictures. Three days after that Villa play another friendly against Columbus Crew in Ohio, USA.

I went to see Harry Potter And The Order of The Phoenix last night with Adam and Claire. I thought it was pretty good, although having only seen bits of the previous films, and having never read the novels, I found parts of it confusing! Those who have seen the previous films and/or read the novels will enjoy it immensely.

The Caps will play in their original red, white and blue colours and their original logo for the upcoming season. The new 07/08 Home Jersey looks nice, as does the 07/08 Road Jersey. I quite liked the old eagle logo and the blue, black and bronze colours, but I'm sure many older Caps fans will be pleased to see the originals return.

Although it's similar to the old one, I do like the new 07/08 Villa Home Shirt. It's very retro and the new crest (which I quite like now) looks good on it as well. I will definitely be getting myself one. The new 07/08 Away Shirt looks ace as well. It reminds me of the shirt worn by the European Cup winning side of '82. Nice.

I wish Tom Clancy would release another novel soon. I've read all his novels apart from SSN. I can't seem to find a paperback copy of that anywhere. I still think The Hunt For Red October is by far his best novel, closely followed by The Bear And The Dragon (which had me cheering at the end) and The Sum Of All Fears.

The folks at Mozilla have released an update to their excellent Firefox browser. The latest version is 2.0.0.5, and contains several important security fixes, so make sure you update your copy as soon as possible. I always use the built-in Software Update system, which makes updating ridiculously fast and easy.

So, Villa have finally started signing some players at last. They've signed midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker, and striker Marlon Harewood from West Ham. That's only two players, though. They still need several more reinforcements before the start of the season, which is less than a month away. I'm worried now. Very worried indeed.

I went to see Die Hard 4.0 on my birthday. I thought it was awesome - certainly the best action film I've seen so far this year. I still think the original Die Hard is the best, though! Bruce Willis is getting on a bit, but he still managed to look the part. I simply must see Transformers and The Simpsons next at the cinema.

It's my birthday today! I can't believe I'm 26 years old now. Yikes! Thank you to everyone who sent me a text message and/or birthday card. I really do very much appreciate it. The cream cakes and sweets went down well at work this morning, and so did the round of drinks I bought everyone in the pub at lunchtime.

I do like the new look CNN site. It's much better than the old one and it loads quicker too. I wish they'd get rid of those huge and distracting advertisements though. I need to get around to giving this site a fresh new look. I know I've been saying that for years, but I do plan on getting it done at some point in the near future!

At long last the photos from my holiday in Spain are now online. See? I said I'd get around to doing it eventually! Simply click anywhere on the current photo to go to the next one. I had lots of fun with PHP and MySQL, but things seem to be working as expected. If you do notice any problems, please let me know.

On July 1st a ban on smoking in enclosed public places came into force in England. I think it's absolutely fantastic and it should have been done years ago. It's definitely a big boost to public health. I went to the pub on Sunday evening, and for the first time ever, I didn't come back smelling like an ashtray. Long may it continue!

It's July already. Where on earth did June go? It's my birthday this Friday. I'll be 26 years old. I can't believe I'll be that old. I certainly don't feel 26 at all. I'll have to take some treats in for the guys at work, and buy them all a drink in the pub on Friday lunchtime - it should be the other way around if you ask me!
