It wasn't their best performance of the season, and they'll need to play much better than that against a certain other team in two weeks time, but
Villa came away from Bolton with a
1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon thanks to a flukey goal from Luke Moore. Villa play a struggling Derby County at Villa Park this coming Saturday.

It all started so well.
Villa went a deserved goal up, and were looking like they could cause Manchester United all kinds of trouble, but then ten minutes of utterly crazy defending screwed it all up, and Villa lost
4-1 in the end. Disappointing. Villa travel up north next to play Bolton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.

I went to see
The Invasion starring the lovely and talented Nicole Kidman last Friday evening. It's always a risk watching a movie when I'm on call, but if I'd been called out during the middle of this particular movie, I don't think I'd have minded too much. It was fairly average - boring, actually - and I wouldn't recommend it.

I finished Half-Life 2: Episode Two earlier this evening. I'd been eagerly awaiting the next installment of Valve's brilliant Half-Life series for absolutely ages, and it was well worth the wait - even if it was far too short again! I couldn't believe the ending. I know it's not real, but it was really quite upsetting! Roll on Episode Three!

I watched
The Kingdom at the cinema on Friday night. I really enjoyed it - I was on the edge of my seat towards the end! The beginning of the film does a great job outlining the history between the U.S. and the Saudis in a short and fairly simple manner. The ending is both sad and quite thought provoking. Recommended.
On Saturday night I wandered off to the cinema yet again to watch
The Brave One. I'm still not entirely sure how to feel about this film. On the one hand it failed to really excite me, and the ending was a bit contrived, but on the other hand Jodie Foster was just outstanding and the story was a real thought provoker.

Villa beat West Ham
1-0 at Villa Park yesterday to move up to fifth place in the Premier League. That was their fourth win in a row at home so far this season, and I must admit it makes a refreshing change from last season where they were mostly drawing every game! Man. United are up next in two weeks time.

Okay, so Tottenham's fourth goal was way offside, and
Villa were denied a clear penalty in the second half, but after being 4-1 up and seemingly cruising to victory, I still cannot believe the game ended in a
4-4 draw. That's two valuable points thrown away. Villa's next game is at home against West Ham next Saturday.
