I think it's time to build myself a new PC. Older readers may remember I built my current one way back in December 2004. Older readers may also remember I had several noise and heat problems, and at one point I was ready to chuck it out the window! Hopefully, I'll avoid those issues this time. Wish me luck!

I saw the new Indiana Jones film at the cinema last night. Other than wondering how Harrison Ford is so limber at that age, and some really daft bits, on the whole I really enjoyed it! Other upcoming films that look as though they're worth going to see are Wanted (staring the gorgeous Angelina Jolie) and Eagle Eye.

I've just had some idiot on the phone asking me if I'd been in an accident, and if I'd like to make a personal injury claim. The balls of these people just astounds me. Honestly, do these ambulance chasing morons have nothing else better to do than try to make other people's lives a misery by claiming for compensation? Grr...

Villa finished the season in sixth place after drawing 2-2 against West Ham United on the last day of the season. Personally, I'm very pleased with sixth place, and even more pleased that Villa will play in the Intertoto Cup next season, which is a sneaky backdoor in to the UEFA Cup! I hope my passport is up to date...

I received a letter today from Heartlands Ford regarding "some good news" about the car I bought from them back in 2006, and asking me to call them for further information. I've no idea what this good news could be, but I suspect it's a gimmick designed to make me impart with some money. I might call them tomorrow...

I watched Iron Man at the cinema on Bank Holiday Monday with Adam and Claire. I really enjoyed it. Nice CGI, decent acting, lots of action and laughs. Good stuff. I can't believe I didn't spot Bill Smitrovich (who played Lt. Bob 'Bletch' Bletcher in Millennium - one of my favourite TV shows ever) playing a small part in the film!

After pulling the plug on the release last week, Microsoft has finally released Windows XP Service Pack 3. It's available via Windows Update or from Microsoft's Download Center. I have it installed on my machine, and I haven't encountered any problems so far. It actually feels a lot faster, but I might be imagining that!

I suspect Villa have failed in their quest for fifth place after Saturday's disappointing 2-0 loss to Wigan at Villa Park. Everton lost to Arsenal though, so mathematically it's still possible for Villa to grab fifth - providing they beat West Ham United on Sunday, and Everton lose at home to Newcastle. Here's hoping, eh?
