I watched Twilight on Monday evening. It's not a bad film to be honest, but it wasn't really my cup of tea - if I were a teenage girl, though, I'm sure I'd have loved it! Of the twenty-odd films I've watched at the cinema this year, the ones that really stand out for me are The Dark Knight, Cloverfield, Wall-E and Taken.

Villa fought back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Arsenal on Boxing Day. Villa played so well, and had so many chances, that the game should have been over well before half-time. It would have been an absolute travesty had they not taken at least a point from the game. Villa play Hull City next on Tuesday evening.

Merry Christmas!

Can you believe it's nearly my favourite time of year again? At least I've got all my shopping done before Christmas Eve for once. Admittedly, I did it all yesterday, but it's an improvement on last year! Don't forget, if you're interested in tracking Santa, the super folks at NORAD are busily doing that just now. Have a good one!

I watched The Day The Earth Stood Still on Friday night and thought it was quite boring. It's not the worst film I've seen this year, but it's certainly not the best either. The CGI was good - but nothing else really. The acting was a bit iffy at times, and I didn't understand the start of the film at all (seemed kind of pointless).

James Milner gave Villa fans an early Christmas present last night. Thanks to his goal, Villa beat West Ham 1-0 and moved up to third in the Premiership. Arsenal are up next on Boxing Day. In other news, Villa didn't draw AS Saint-Etienne in the UEFA Cup as I'd predicted; they got CSKA Moscow instead. Tough. Very tough.

Villa lost 3-1 to Hamburg yesterday evening, but it didn't matter too much as they had already qualified for the knockout round anyway. Villa will find out who they play next tomorrow when the draw is made in Nyon, Switzerland. I don't know why but I have this strange feeling Villa will draw French side AS Saint-Etienne!

I've found a really cool open-source alternative to Windows Media Player called Songbird. I've been using it for about a week now and I'm very impressed with what I've seen. It's under constant development, and has lots of cool features, so I'm sure it's going to keep getting better and better. Try it and see what you think.

After the disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Fulham, and the equally disappointing 2-1 loss at home to MSK Zilina in their UEFA Cup group game, Villa responded excellently with a 3-2 last-gasp victory at Everton last week, and a superb 4-2 win at home against Bolton on Saturday. Hamburg are up next on Wednesday.

My new PC build went very well indeed. It runs a lot cooler and faster than my previous one. The only issue I'm having at the moment is that I can't control the speed of my CPU fan, so it's currently spinning at full speed and making far too much noise for my liking. I really hope Gigabyte get back to me with a solution.
