It's great to read that the Caps are being so well supported these days. Then again, that's hardly surprising with the team playing well and a superstar like Alex Ovechkin on the roster. It's a big difference from how things were a couple of years ago that's for sure! The 2009-2010 NHL regular season starts tomorrow.

Villa beat Cardiff 1-0 last week to progress to the next round of the Carling Cup, but lost 2-1 to Blackburn on Saturday. I thought Villa would stroll it when they scored in the first couple of minutes, but sadly Blackburn equalised and then won the game with a last minute penalty! Manchester City are up next on Monday evening.

I watched Surrogates at the cinema last night and enjoyed it immensely. It was nicely paced and easy to follow, but I was surprised at how quickly it was over! It had a runtime of just 88 minutes, but Gamer was only 7 minutes longer, and that really dragged. I guess you can tell which movie I enjoyed more!

Google Chrome is now my web browser of choice. I was very impressed when Google released the first version a year or so ago, and they have just kept on making it better and better with every release. The latest version is the best yet and it's just so quick, both to start and load websites, it makes Firefox feel slow!

Regular readers will notice I've gotten rid of the old bookmarking and sharing services and replaced them with a slightly more comprehensive selection courtesy of AddThis. I've no idea if the old services were ever used, but if you do bookmark and share my ramblings, you now have a better selection to choose from!

I saw Gamer on Friday night and came out of the cinema entirely unsure what to make of it! There was plenty of action and, being an avid gamer myself, I could relate to what I was seeing, but I thought it was all a bit, well, strange really. I can't recommend watching this at the cinema - wait for the DVD release instead.

Villa beat Portsmouth 2-0 at Villa Park this afternoon. It was a comfortable win for Villa - their fifth one in a row - and they kept another clean sheet! Villa play Blackburn Rovers away next weekend, but before that, they play Cardiff City in the Carling Cup at Villa Park on Wednesday night. I will, of course, be there!

My beloved Villa rounded off a fantastic weekend by beating They Who Must Not Be Named 1-0 in their own backyard on Sunday afternoon. It was a tight game with few chances, but Agbonlahor made sure his 87th minute header counted to give Villa all three points. Up next for Villa: Portsmouth at Villa Park on Saturday.

Two of my favourite people in the whole wide world, Adam and Claire, got married on Saturday afternoon. It was a fantastic day - everything went smoothly - and the weather, well, you couldn't have wished for better weather - it was absolutely glorious sunshine all day! I'm so happy for both of them. Congratulations!

I saw District 9 at the cinema on Friday evening and thought it was excellent. It's a bit silly in places, and it takes a while to get going, but those are my only real gripes. It's definitely one of the most original sci-fi films I've seen for quite a while - and thought provoking, too. Make sure you see it whilst it's on the big screen!

I've also seen Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (which was enjoyable - I really must finish off reading the books!), The Taking of Pelham 123 (which was excellent) and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (which, apart from the CGI, was terrible) in the past couple of months, but neglected to mention them here until now!

Way Out West have a brand new album coming out on October 5th (and about time too!). It's called We Love Machine and I for one cannot wait to get my hands on a copy! Their three previous albums were excellent, and if the new single Only Love is anything to go by, the new album is going to be just as good - if not better.
