So it's the last day of 2009. Not long left now before 2010 starts. I can't say I'm looking forward to 2010 with much enthusiasm at the moment though. I've watched a fair few films at the cinema this year - over 30, I think - and James Cameron's
Avatar is my film of the year, followed by
Transformers: Revenge of The Fallen.

Well, after an excellent
1-0 win at home against Stoke before Christmas,
Villa have lost their last two matches. They lost
3-0 away to Arsenal last Sunday, and last night, they lost
1-0 at home to Liverpool when they really should have won. Villa play Blackburn at home next in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon.

Oops. I forgot to put up the Christmas background I usually use for my site at this time of year! I've been so busy with other stuff it had totally slipped my mind. Oh well. At least it's nearly my favourite time of year again. The folks at
NORAD (along with Google) are busy tracking Santa as usual. Have a good Christmas!

If you haven't already, I urge you to get down to your local cinema to watch James Cameron's
Avatar as soon as you possibly can. I saw it on Friday evening and was absolutely mesmerised from start to finish. It's the best film of the year for me and probably one of the best films I've ever seen (and I watch a lot!).

Villa beat Manchester United
1-0 last Saturday! That's the first time they've won at Old Trafford since 1983 - 26 years! - and was United's first home defeat of the season. They then followed that up with a
2-0 win against Sunderland on Tuesday evening. Up next for Villa: Stoke City at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.

I've lost count of the total number of times I've been told to join
Facebook. However, after many years of fierce resistance, I finally caved in and quietly added myself over the weekend. You can
add me as friend if you really must. My profile is pretty sparse at the moment, but I might add stuff to it eventually...

I've recently seen
The Box and
Law Abiding Citizen at the cinema. The Box wins my vote for the weirdest film of the year; I left the cinema totally confused. Law Abiding Citizen was excellent, but the ending is somewhat disappointing. Roll on James Cameron's
Avatar next weekend - it looks absolutely awesome.

Villa beat Hull City
3-0 at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon - and it could have been a lot more had Villa taken their chances! Hull were poor and didn't really threaten apart from one shot that hit the woodwork. Villa travel to Old Trafford next where they haven't beaten United for well over twenty years. Maybe this year...?

Woohoo!
Villa are through to the semi-final of the Carling Cup after beating Portsmouth
4-2 on Tuesday evening. They'll play Blackburn Rovers for a place in the final at Wembley. Meanwhile, back in the Premier League, Villa drew
1-1 with Burnley and
1-1 with Tottenham. They play Hull at home on Saturday afternoon.

I've recently seen
New Moon and
Paranormal Activity. I know I said the first Twilight movie
wasn't really my cup of tea, but I couldn't resist watching the second one. All those squealing teenage girls got on my nerves, though. As for Paranormal Activity, it was quite creepy at times, but otherwise very boring.
